Khalil is a mosaic artist of 30 years and has taught mosaics for 12 years to children and adults in Tampa bay area. Last year, VSA of Florida sponsored Khalil as a visiting artist to teach mosaic arts at Sheehy Elementary School in Tampa and another School in Zephyrhills. The students and staff were impressed by his teaching skills, experience, and their awesome finished projects. Between 1997 and 2009, Khalil enjoyed teaching mosaic arts in his workshops in Tampa, Largo, and Tarpon Springs, as well as in various Hillsborough County Parks and Recreation centers, and his local Carrollwood Culture Center in Tampa, FL. At present, Khalil is an independent instructor teaching mosaic arts at Tampa Parks and Recreation centers in Tampa, FL. The Tampa Housing Authority will contract Khalil for the same. The Arts Council had hired Khalil, last month, to teach mosaic arts at the Town ‘n Country Senior Center, in Tama, FL and has promised more.
